Pro-Life Advocacy
Romija is dedicated to protecting life from conception to natural death. The organization actively campaigns against abortion by raising awareness about its consequences and promoting life-affirming alternatives. Through community engagements, educational drives, and partnerships with like-minded institutions, Romija advocates for a culture that values and respects every human life, especially the unborn.
Support for Teenage Mothers
Romija provides material, emotional, and psychosocial support to pregnant teenagers and young mothers. Recognizing the pressure many face to abort or abandon their children, Romija offers dignity-preserving options such as maternity care, basic needs, counseling, and where possible, safe housing—ensuring that no girl is forced to terminate a pregnancy due to lack of support.
At Romija Uganda, Our Objectives Reflect a Deep Commitment to Upholding the Right to Life, Empowering Youth, Promoting Mental Wellness, and Creating a Society Where Every Human Being Is Valued, Protected, and Given the Opportunity to Thrive.
Legal & Human Rights Support
The organization stands in defense of survivors of sexual violence, abuse, and exploitation by offering legal representation, court case follow-up, and rights-based counseling. Romija works to ensure that survivors are not re-victimized by the justice system and that perpetrators are held accountable under the law, while also advocating for reforms that strengthen protections for women and children.
School & Institutional Clubs
Romija establishes Pro-Life and Pro-Family Clubs in schools, universities, and other institutions to foster a values-based mindset among young people. These clubs serve as safe spaces for students to discuss life issues, engage in peer mentoring, and build leadership skills rooted in moral responsibility, self-worth, and African family values.
Policy Engagement
Romija collaborates with Members of Parliament (MPs), local leaders, and stakeholders to promote and defend legislation that supports pro-life and pro-family values. The organization contributes to policy development, offers legal insight, and mobilizes citizen participation to ensure national laws reflect the dignity of life and the well-being of families.
Cultural & Community Engagement
Firmly grounded in African traditions, Romija promotes cultural practices that uphold life, family, and community cohesion. Through dialogues, campaigns, and cultural events, the organization reinforces positive customs while challenging harmful practices. It also sensitizes communities on issues like environmental degradation and its indirect impact on family health and livelihoods.
Children’s Health Defense
Romija advocates for the health and bodily integrity of children by promoting safe, informed medical practices and opposing coercive or unethical treatments. The organization campaigns for policies and community awareness that ensure children’s rights to healthcare, parental involvement in health decisions, and protection from exploitation.
